I've had a few emails recently about DotNetNuke 7 and thought I would reply in a single place.
DotNetNuke 7 is shaping us a very exciting release and something I'll be moving modules towards as a minimum base (where it makes sense).
The reason for this is the services framework breaks between 6.2 and 7. This makes it extremely difficult to support multiple versions with a single build. The Services Framework is crucial for supporting features such as notifications.
Beginning on November 14th (hopefully the release date for DotNetNuke 7), social images will be released.
Shortly after will follow builds of News Articles, Property Agent & Simple gallery that will move to a minimum version of DotNetNuke 7.
Modules such as child links are OK to stay in DNN 6 and will still work in DNN 7 as there should be minimal impact.
All current versions will still be available for those on older DotNetNuke versions but no longer enhanced.
