A few people have emailed me recently on a few topics. Rather than reply to each individually, I thought I would answer them in a single post.
The modules have not been tested for Azure Compatibility yet. This is something that I want to implement this quarter after the modules are upgrading to a minimum of DotNetNuke 6.2.
News Articles and Property Agent currently do not run under Azure.
DotNetNuke 6 Compatibility
As far as I'm aware, each module runs under DNN 6 already.
I will be upgrading each module to a minimum of DNN 6.2 shortly to take advantage of the platform specific features. This will involve a redesign of the admin/edit screens to conform to the DNN 6 design patterns.
After my recent presentation at the Seattle DNN User Group, some people ask what my involvement with F5 Networks means for Ventrian (now that I am working full time for F5).
F5 Networks has been a customer of Ventrian for a long time and my involvement will in no way impede the development of Ventrian modules. In fact, I see it as a positive and will provide further time for development of modules like News Articles.
Yes! As part of my involvement with F5, I will be at DNNWorld this year!
If you want to meet up to talk DotNetNuke, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Lastly, I have been working on a very special module after the Seattle DNN Users Group presentation.
It is an image sharing module built directly on the top of the DNN 6.2 social features
A high level feature list is:
- Contribute images to a central area
- Follow other users to get a customized view of the image pool
- Comment on images
- Like images
- Complete journal integration (including shared comments & likes), e.g. comment in either place.
- Modern masonry styling
- Fluid popups & animations
